Inpatient Rehab for Mental Health at The Recovery Village Columbus

Our Columbus residential mental health care treatment center can help you develop a strong foundation for your mental health, away from the stressors and triggers that exist in daily life at home.

What Is Inpatient Mental Health Rehab?

Inpatient rehab allows patients to fully concentrate on overcoming their mental health challenges while residing at our expert treatment facility. Our subacute treatment program is designed for voluntary patients who need residential psychiatric support, but aren’t an immediate harm to themselves or others. Patients receive a tailored treatment plan designed to meet their unique needs, which includes one-on-one and group therapy sessions with licensed therapists, medication management, and recreational spaces for art, sports and relaxation.

Is inpatient rehab right for me?

Selecting a program that meets your needs is vital to effective treatment and lasting recovery. Our subacute inpatient mental health program may be a good fit for you if:

  • You have a diagnosed mental health condition like depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia or other mood disorders.
  • You believe you’ll benefit from living in a secure, supportive environment, away from stressors and mental health triggers, allowing you to focus on recovery
  • You are ready to commit to treatment and make positive changes to enhance your mental health and well-being.
  • You may also struggle with substance misuse, like drugs or alcohol, and would benefit from our dual diagnosis care.

You may require a higher level of care than our program can offer if:

  • You’re at an immediate risk of harming yourself or others, including recent suicide attempts or aggressive behaviors outside your condition.
  • You have pending legal issues, like being court-ordered to receive treatment.
  • You have a physical condition that requires a higher need for medical care, like wounds, drains, tubes, dialysis or another condition requiring active supervision in a hospital.

How Dual Diagnosis Can Help

For many people, self-medicating their mental health condition with drugs or alcohol can provide temporary relief but worsen their symptoms over time. If you’re struggling with a mental health disorder and an addiction, treating both at the same time is key to a successful recovery.

Many behavioral health facilities only offer one or the other. The licensed professionals at The Recovery Village Columbus can not only treat both, but they’ll also help you understand the relationship between your conditions for more holistic healing.

Using Insurance for Mental Health Care

We understand that cost is important when you’re searching for an inpatient rehab center. Insurance plans often cover some or all of the costs of behavioral health treatment. The Recovery Village is in-network with most major and local health insurance providers. To verify your insurance benefits, visit our insurance page.

Inpatient Mental Health FAQ

How long is your mental health rehab program?

The length of stay in an inpatient mental health program will depend upon your specific needs. Usually, patients complete their full residential stay in two to four weeks.

Will I be forced to stay in treatment?

To achieve long-lasting and effective recovery, it’s important to remain in treatment as medically suggested. We strongly encourage you to stay in your program until it is complete. However, you can leave the facility at any time, even against medical advice.

Can I transfer here from an acute mental health facility?

Yes, patients who have finished their stay at an acute level of mental health care at a different facility and wish to receive additional support before transitioning to life in the community are welcome at our subacute residential treatment program.

What happens after I leave your care?

On your first day in treatment, case managers begin preparing for your graduation. They’ll connect you to outpatient therapy programs and mental health resources in your community so you’ll always have access to the support you require.

What if I have a mental health disorder and an addiction?

Dual diagnosis treatment can treat both substance use and mental health disorders at the same time. During admission, our medical team will assess your needs and recommend either the mental health or substance misuse track. While in our mental health program, you’ll undergo a medical detox for substance use and then receive additional group therapy sessions about addiction while staying in our mental health wing.

If substance misuse is your primary need, you’ll undergo medical detox and then enter the inpatient rehab program, living with other people recovering from addiction. Your mental health diagnosis will be addressed within those levels of care.

How can I pay for inpatient rehab?

Many inpatient programs, including The Recovery Village Columbus, accept health insurance. Your plan may cover some or all of the costs of inpatient rehab. Private pay options may be available if you do not have insurance coverage. To verify your insurance benefits, please visit our insurance page; we are in network with most local and national health insurance providers.

Will I lose my job if I go to rehab?

The law offers protection if you take time off from work for behavioral health needs. The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) allows you to take time off from work, and keep your job if you seek mental health treatment from a healthcare provider. Only some people qualify for FMLA.

Will I lose my kids if I go to rehab?

Mental health disorders can interfere with your ability to care for your children. While there is no guarantee regarding child custody, in most cases, you are less likely to lose custody of your children if you seek mental health treatment and successfully recover. Many parents work out arrangements in which a relative cares for their children while they are in rehab.

Really great place to start your journey to a new , better sober life everyone deserves to live. Very knowledgeable and loving staff, they very much want to equip everyone with the best tools possible to make the change and stay sober after. My suggestion if you are a person who is sick and tired of addiction, and you have the opportunity to go to treatment center this 100% is gotta be 1 of the best options in central Ohio. Some great staff that comes off as real genuine people that, 100%, want to help you get right again. Couldn't have a nicer facility as well.
